CAMPUS UPDATE JULY/AUGUST 2015 STUDENT HOUSING BUSINESS .COM 18 University of Tennessee at Chattanooga GREEN REAL ESTATE TO DEVELOP SECOND STUDENT HOUSING DEVELOPMENT Chattanooga, Tenn. — Green Real Estate Group LLC, in partner- ship with DEW UTC LLC, has be- gun development on a fve-story, 68-bed student housing project, VINE 422, located in downtown Chattanooga adjacent to the Uni- versity of Tennessee at Chattanoo- ga campus. VINE 422 is scheduled to be completed for the 2016 sum- mer semester. Throughout the building students will fnd a se- ries of one-, two-, and three-bed- room apartments. All will feature designer kitchens, full appliance packages with washers and dry- ers, and large windows for natu- ral light. Students will also have free access to EPB's 1 Gigabit In- ternet services, along with water, trash removal and monthly clean- ing services included in the price of rent. Located on the ground foor of VINE 422 will be a mod- ern, sit-down restaurant featuring a menu featuring fresh ingredi- ents from local farms. There will also be a second small commercial space where Green envisions a late-night food walk-up or small convenience store. Green has se- lected Pointe General Contrac- tors as the builders for VINE 422. Chattanooga-based Caughman & Caughman Architects, along with Knoxville-based interior design frm, McAbee Hayes, will provide the project's design services. Ber- ry Engineering PLLC, Advanced Energy and Engineering Design PLLC and Woods Engineering PLLC will provide all of the proj- ect's civil and structural engi- neering services. VINE 422 will be fnanced by Cohutta Banking Company, a division of Synovus Bank and one of its lead lenders, Tim Collins. University of Oklahoma UNIVERSITY HOUSE TO DEVELOP COMMUNITY IN NORMAN Norman, Okla. — University House Communities (UHC) will develop a new University House com- munity on the site of the current Bishop's Landing apartments near the University of Oklahoma. Con- struction will begin on the apart- ment community this fall, and is expected to open by August 2017. The fve-story, 388-unit develop- ment will feature 917 beds with studio, one-, two-, three- and four- bedroom foor plans, all fully fur- nished. The community also will include amenities such as three outdoor courtyard areas, a club- room, pool, 24-hour ftness center, parking and on-site management. The project team currently consists of University House Communi- ties as the developer, Humphreys & Partners Architects and Huitt- Zollars as the civil engineer.
