NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2015 STUDENT HOUSING BUSINESS .COM 76 TOP 25 MANAGERS Student Housing Business conducted its annual Top 25 Managers of Student Housing survey in fall 2015 with more than 40 companies participating. SHB uses the number of beds as a benchmark to determine the industry's largest property managers. This year, there were nine frms on the Top 25 posting double digit growth in the percentage of beds that they manage. As well, the order has shifted with our annual ranking of the industry's top third-party managers (see page 77). Leading the changes this year are Cardinal Group Management, who rose from 25th in 2014 to 15th on this year's ranking, with an astounding 87 percent increase in beds under management. Due to acquisitions, The Scion Group rose from 13th to 7th largest manager and The Preiss Company grew from 11th to 5th largest manager in 2015. Other notable movers include Greystar, Peak Campus, University House Communities and Redstone Residential. Two new frms join the Top 25 this year: Homestead U and Capstone Real Estate Investments.
