NE WS IN BRIEF March/April 2018 20 CAMPUS ADVANTAGE AWARDED MANAGEMENT OF TWO COMMUNITIES IN CALIFORNIA Davis and Fullerton, Calif. — Campus Advan- tage has been awarded management of two student housing communities in California. Properties include College Square, a 448-bed student housing community located within walking distance of the University of Califor- nia, Davis; and University Village, a 305-bed student housing community located near Cali- fornia State University, Fullerton. Both prop- erties are garden-style. College Square offers shared amenities including three swimming pools, a fitness center, grilling and picnic area, 24-hour laundry facilities, a study lounge and business center. Shared amenities at University Village include onsite food service, a swim- ming pool, fitness center, laundry facilities, bicycle storage, package lockers, wi-fi hotspots throughout common areas and a recreational room with billiards, foosball, a big screen tele- vision and lounge areas for entertaining. Ren- ovations are planned for common areas and units, and marketing agency Catalyst is set to perform full rebrands at both properties. CORE SPACES NAMES ERIN PEREZ SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF PROPERTY MANAGEMENT Chicago — Chicago-based Core Spaces has named Erin Perez senior vice president of property management. In her new role, Perez will oversee the overall operations of the Core Spaces portfolio. Her responsibilities will in- clude overseeing business operations, strategic planning, budget analysis, financial reporting, marketing, leasing, and facility operations for new developments and stabilized assets. PEAK CAMPUS AWARDED MANAGEMENT OF 536-BED COMMUNITY NEAR MISSISSIPPI STATE Starkville, Miss. — Peak Campus has been awarded management of Haven12, a 536-bed student housing community located near Mis- sissippi State University in Starkville. The prop- erty — developed by Haven Campus Commu- nities — offers two-, three- and four-bedroom, fully furnished units with bed-to-bath parity. Shared amenities at the property include a re- sort-style pool, cabana-style outdoor kitchen and television area, hammock garden, outdoor bocce ball and horseshoe courts, a clubhouse, fitness center, study lounges, a coffee bar, game lounge, tanning booth and business center. VESPER ACQUIRES COMMUNITY NEAR THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT GREENSBORO Greensboro, N.C. — Vesper Holdings has ac- quired Campus Crossing, a student housing community located near the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The community consists of five, two- and three-story residen- tial buildings offering two-, three- and four- bedroom units. Shared amenities include a 12,000-square-foot clubhouse, swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center with rock wall, spin and yoga studios, a computer lab, game room, movie theater, tanning beds and a volleyball court. The undisclosed seller completed a $1.6 million renovation on the property last year. Vesper intends to invest an additional $500,000 in capital expenditures toward enhancements to the property's exteriors and technology up- grades throughout the community.
