CAMPUS UPDATE November/December 2017 29 CAMPUS UPDATE Florida International University UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENTS SELECTS COASTAL CONSTRUCTION AS GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR 492- UNIT COMMUNITY IN MIAMI Miami — University Develop- ments has selected Coastal Con- struction Group as general con- tractor for University Bridge Residences, a 492-unit student housing community located across the street from Florida In- ternational University's main campus in Miami. The property will feature a pedestrian bridge to campus and shared amenities including a resort-style pool with beach entry and pool volleyball, cabanas, a sun deck with day- beds, barbecue and dining areas, study areas, a business center, state-of-the-art fitness room and a 5,500-square-foot indoor lounge and game room. Arquitectonica designed the project, and Land- mark Properties will manage the community upon completion in 2020. University of Texas JOINT VENTURE TO DEVELOP 687-BED STUDENT HOUSING PROPERTY IN ARLINGTON Arlington, Texas — A joint venture between Dallas-based Fountain Residential Partners and HC2 Capital LLC will develop 8FOUR8 Mitchell, a 687-bed student hous- ing property that will be located on West Mitchell Street near the University of Texas at Arlington. The property's 298 units will con- sist of a mix of one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom residenc- es. Amenities will include a resort- style pool and a 9,000-square-foot clubhouse with a fitness center and multiple private study rooms. Stuart Roosth Architects designed the property. Boise, Idaho — EdR has opened Honors College and Sawtooth Hall, a 656-bed residence hall located on the campus of Boise State University. EdR is leasing the land from the university, and owns the five-story, 236,000-square-foot community. The community includes a dedicated Honors living-learning center and first-year accommodations in the form of 235 two- and four-person, private and semi-private suites. A number of apartment-style units are also included to provide alternatives for up- per-division students in the Honors College.
