more uptown tone, a housing communi-
ty farther from campus aims to capture
a homespun style of authenticity in its
design.
Cuningham Group's The Radius @
15th strikes an intimate chord with stu-
dents attending the University of Min-
nesota in Minneapolis. The design is
inspired by the region's culture so that
students, who may be living away from
home for the first time, will be comfort-
ed by details influenced by Minnesota's
cabin culture.
The 210-unit property owned by Uni-
versity Student Living has a common
area with the look and feel of a cozy
cabin with a contemporary twist. "A
lot of the student population hails from
Minnesota, or they have cabins in north-
ern Minnesota," Schoeneck says, "so
this is one way we look for ways to meet
students where they feel at home and
are comfortable."

Cube 3 Studio's The Edge Student Village near Temple University in Philadelphia — ready in fall 2017 —
