CAMPUS UPDATE MARCH/APRIL 2015 STUDENT HOUSING BUSINESS .COM 34 Columbia University CETRARUDDY REVAMPS RESIDENCES AT TEACHERS COLLEGE New York — The architecture and design frm CetraRuddy has unveiled the newly renovated graduate student and faculty housing at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York. After an assessment of more than 500,000 square feet of graduate student housing types and sizes campuswide, CetraRuddy renovated student residences in the college's historic Bancroft Hall, designed by celebrated architect Emery Roth & Sons. The renovation of the historic eight-story residence hall on West 121st Street in Manhattan includes 95 graduate student apartments. The total project area is estimated at approximately 90,000 square feet. The roof of Square on Fifth includes a resort-style swimming pool, clubroom with gaming area, study room and social terrace with outdoor freplace and views of Georgia Tech's football and baseball stadiums. Atlanta — JE Dunn Construction has topped out Square on Fifth (SQ5), a student housing community adjacent to Georgia Tech in Atlanta's Mid- town neighborhood. The 325,000-square-foot, 25-story mixed-use tower will also include retail and offce spaces. The $49.2 million project is one of Midtown Atlanta's tallest building projects in recent memory. A lunch- time gathering of nearly 300 workers joined in the traditional milestone celebration topping out, signifying the end of the structural phase of the project. Begun in March 2014, SQ5 is scheduled for completion in August 2015. SQ5 will offer eight foor plans among 230 apartment units, each with a full kitchen with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances, and foor-to-ceiling glass walls. The roof includes a resort-style swim- ming pool, clubroom with gaming area, study room and social terrace with outdoor freplace and views of Georgia Tech's football and baseball stadiums.
