CAMPUS UPDATE January/February 2017 StudentHousingBusiness.com 24 The University of Minnesota EDR, CORE SPACES BEGIN CONSTRUCTION ON $98 MILLION COMMUNITY Minneapolis — A partnership between EdR and Core Spaces has begun construction on The Hub Minneapolis, a $98 mil- lion, 707-bed community located near the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The project will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units. Community amenities will include individual study rooms, group study lounges, 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail, a computer lab and a cardio fit- ness center. The development's rooftop will feature a pool, hot tub, fire pits and a cooking area; and the penthouse level will offer a chef's kitchen, bar-top dining area and retractable doors lead- ing out to a three-season patio. EdR will be the 51 percent owner, and will manage the project upon completion in summer 2018. Baylor University EISNER EQUITIES BREAKS GROUND ON 151-BED COMMUNITY Waco, Texas — Eisner Equities has broken ground on OPUS 2430, a 151-bed boutique student hous- ing community located near Baylor University in Waco. The 68,000-square-foot property will offer townhome-style units fea- turing granite countertops, wash- ers and dryers and en-suite bath- rooms, with an additional powder room on the ground floor of each unit for guests. Community ame- nities will include a clubhouse, fitness center, outdoor living and exercise areas and a resort-style pool and tanning deck. The devel- opment is expected to open for occupancy in fall 2017. Project team members include Bennett, Benner Partners Architects and Waco-based engineering firm Walker Partners. Campus Realtors will serve as the on-site man- agement and leasing firm. Ciera Bank of Fort Worth provided the financing. The University of Nevada, Reno CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY ON THE TOWERS AT PINK HILL DEVELOPMENT Reno, Nev. — Construction is underway on The Towers at Pink Hill, a mixed-use development near the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The four-story development is the flagship project for Pink Hill Properties LLC, found- ed by University of Nevada basketball teammates Kevinn Pinkney and Garry Hill-Thomas. The community will offer 23 units atop three restaurants and retail space. The architect for the project is Studio HBA, Reno, and the general contractor is TFP Inc. Greater Nevada Credit Union provided financing for the development.
